Fruits that dogs can't eat

Fruits that dogs can't eat

Hi, This is duz!😉

In the last post, I looked into vegetables that dogs shouldn't eat.

Today, we are going to have a time to find out about fruits that dogs should not eat.

Would you like to go and find out about the fruits you shouldn't eat and why??

【Grape】

I think most of you who have a dog know it.

Grapes are one of the representative fruits that dogs should not eat 🍇

Grapes have harmful ingredients in the kidneys of dogs, which can cause acute renal failure, and symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, and shortness of breath can occur.

In fact, it has not yet been made clear what ingredients in grapes cause this phenomenon.

In the case of small dogs, it is said that they show symptoms of addiction even if they eat just one or two grapes, and it is best not to eat them at all because each dog has a different grape intake that shows symptoms of addiction.

❌ Also, not only grape kernels, but also grape skins, seeds, stems, and everything else is bad for your dog, so you should not eat them. ❌

【A plum seed】

Plums are rich in vitamins A, C, minerals, and antioxidants needed for dogs 🍑

It is a fruit that is high in fiber and low in calories, so it is suitable for obese dogs to eat.

You can feed your dog this healthy plum flesh, but you should never let them eat plum seeds.

The first reason is that plum seeds are very hard and big, so they are not good for dogs' teeth and jaw.

The second reason is that large plum seeds can get caught in the throat and cause intestinal obstruction.

Also, it is okay to provide a small amount of plums like a snack, but be careful because dogs consume a large amount of plums. It can cause gastrointestinal disorders such as vomiting and diarrhea.

【Grapefruit】

Grapefruit contains abundant vitamins, dietary fiber, calcium, potassium, etc., and is a good fruit for people who lower blood sugar 🍊

However, it is said that dogs are fruits that you should not eat.

Grapefruit has an ingredient called "psoralen."

This ingredient called soralene can cause the dog to exhibit digestive disorders such as vomiting, diarrhea, and nausea, and can cause photosensitizing dermatitis* 😰

(*Sensitized dermatitis: Dermatitis occurs when a dog is exposed to sunlight.)

In addition, dermatitis can occur even when grapefruit directly touches the dog's skin.

Soralene is said to contain not only the pulp of grapefruit, but also more in the skins and seeds.

【Fig】

The leaves, stems, and shells of figs contain ficin and soralene, which can have harmful effects on dogs 😥

Whishin is an ingredient contained in the stems, leaves, and shells of figs and is an ingredient in the white extract that comes out when cutting figs.

This component called Whishin contains enzymes that break down proteins and helps digestion when consumed by humans, but dogs can have strong Whishin and gastrointestinal disorders such as vomiting and abdominal pain.

Also, the soralene ingredient mentioned in the grapefruit is also contained in the fig.

Soralene components can cause gastrointestinal disorders such as vomiting and diarrhea, and in severe cases, it can even cause paralysis 😨

Since Whishin and Soralene are present in the leaves, stems, and shells of figs, it is not a problem to consume only pulp, but there is a possibility that the extract comes out during the process of cutting the figs, so even a small amount can be buried in the pulp, and since the boundary between the flesh and the shell is ambiguous, it is recommended not to consume figs ❌

【Unripe kiwi】

Kiwis contain an ingredient called oxalic acid.

This ingredient, especially in unripe kiwis, can cause kidney stones in dogs 🥝

Therefore, when you provide kiwis to your dog, you can choose only ripe kiwis, but if you consume a large amount, you may experience vomiting, diarrhea, or lethargy, so I recommend you give only a small amount.

Also, kiwis contain a lot of potassium, which can strain your kidneys, so if your dog doesn't have a good kidney, you should make sure you don't pay him 😥

In addition, the fiber in the skin of kiwis is insoluble, and if a dog consumes these fibers, it can cause diarrhea or an upset stomach, so if you provide kiwis, you must peel them.

【Unripe tomatoes (green tomatoes)】

Red ripe tomatoes are rich in vitamins and moisture, so they are okay for dogs to consume.

Like other fruits, you have to pay your dog a small amount like a snack, and if you eat a large amount of fruit, you can have diarrhea or an upset stomach, so if you pay attention to controlling the amount, you can pay it. 🍅

However, tomatoes have an ingredient called tomatine.

This ingredient called tomatin is a component that is produced as tomatoes grow and naturally decomposes, and it is a component that is contained a lot in unripe tomatoes.

This ingredient gives you a bitter and astringent taste and can cause vomiting or diarrhea in your dog.

In addition, except for the ripe red tomato fruit, the leaves and stems contain allergy-causing ingredients, so you should be careful when paying.

So far, we've looked into fruits that dogs can't eat.

There were fruits that could not be consumed at all, and there were fruits that could be consumed as long as the precautions were followed when paying.

I hope today's post helped you a little bit with your pets 🫠

I hope you have a great day today and I'll see you next time with a helpful post 💚

Have a great day with the duz '◡'
